Why I have chosen Rock as my genre
I have chosen to study the rock genre for the style development unit because there's such a wide variety of music pieces to choose from and I am fascinated by each and everyone of them.
Some of my favourite artists perform in the genre of rock - for example:
Rock has a wide range of sub genres to choose from, if the extreme heavy metal head banging isn't for you (Heavy Metal) then look into the other sub genres because there's something for everyone!
The Sub Genres Of Rock:
Rock is a great genre because there's so many styles of it! For example:
METAL - thick massive sound (electric guitars - drums - harsh vocals)
HARD ROCK - intense and powerful (aggressive sounds - electric guitar)
PROGRESSIVE ROCK - classical influences (keyboard - lengthy pieces)
PUNK ROCK - loud, fast tempo and aggressive (Electric guitar - drums)
INDIE ROCK - more independent music (more uncommon sounds)
POP ROCK - more catchy chords and choruses. slower (bass guitars)
BRIT POP - more British, bright and catchy lyrics ( guitar - keyboard)
GRUNGE - murky sounding, hardcore (electric guitar - drums)
I found out the information for this on google.com
